Certified Participation in California’s Carpet Stewardship Program
At Premier Recycle, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword – it’s built into everything we do. That’s why we’re proud to participate in the California Carpet Stewardship Program, administered by CARE (Carpet America Recovery Effort).
Through this program, we help divert post-consumer carpet from landfills by properly sorting, documenting, and directing recyclable material to certified downstream processors. This effort is part of our commitment to supporting a cleaner, more circular economy in California.
About the California Carpet Stewardship Program
The California Carpet Stewardship Program was created under Assembly Bill 2398 and later expanded by AB 1158, with oversight by CalRecycle. The law requires carpet manufacturers and related stakeholders to take responsibility for the lifecycle of carpet, with a goal of increasing carpet recycling and reducing landfill waste across the state.
As a participating facility, Premier Recycle is aligned with all state requirements and reporting protocols, making it easier for you to stay compliant and hit your sustainability goals.
How It Works at Premier Recycle
When you bring carpet to our San Jose transfer facility, we:
Identify eligible carpet types and conditions
Sort and prepare material for recycling
Provide accurate documentation for diversion tracking
Coordinate with CARE-certified recycling partners
Whether you’re a general contractor, waste hauler, or property manager, we’ll make sure your carpet waste is handled responsibly.
